The role
- Perform Hull engineering design, calculations and analysis.
- Review and correct drawings.
- Experience in Hull design and design check, familiar with engineering codes and standards.
- Prepare test procedures.
- Review vendor quotations and vendor drawings.
- Handle contract-bidding engineering specifications and enquiry.
- Monitor the progress of drawings, documents and purchase specifications.
- Perform quality assurance check of drawings.
- Seek new ideas/ solutions to improve the current designs, work methods and procedures.
- Liaise with the Superintendent in-charge to ensure proper organization and utilization of manpower and work methods to meet project schedule requirements.
- Co-ordination with Vendors, Technical Evaluation Process, Project Execution, good interpersonal skills.
- Reporting to & working closely with the Technical Manager, the key tasks will be the design and development of new products for this high tech sector, liaising with external design companies, suppliers, customers and in house production to bring projects to fruition.
- Ensure timely completion of the projects drawings as related to Hull.
The person
- At least 2-3 years of related work experience for degree holder/ 3-4 years of related work experience for diploma holder.
- Possess knowledge of and/ or experience in:
• Ship Hull system.
• Hull engineering.
• Hull equipment designs and functions.
• Classification bodies’ requirements.
• Testing and commissioning of piping system and equipment.
• Installation of Hull system and equipment.
- Possess good leadership, planning and decision-making skills.
- Able to work in a team.
